A 2400 × 3000 image at 300 DPI prints at 8 × 10 inches without changing its pixels. Changing the tag alone cannot make a smaller image more detailed.Use your own input and inspect the actual preview and exported result before sharing.
When to use Image DPI & Print Size
Set real PNG print-density metadata or resample an image for a chosen physical print size.
A 2400 × 3000 image at 300 DPI prints at 8 × 10 inches without changing its pixels. Changing the tag alone cannot make a smaller image more detailed.
Prepare, review and export
Open JPG, PNG or WebP and choose a print density.
Keep pixels unchanged, or enable resampling and enter physical dimensions with aspect locking.
Prepare the PNG, review the encoded output and download it or a physically sized raster PDF.
Limits that affect the result
20 MB and 16 megapixels. Density-only changes do not add image detail. Resampling changes pixels; metadata other than the new PNG density is not copied. Image viewers may ignore DPI metadata; PDF fixes the physical page size.
