WebP to PNG
Open up WebP images as PNGs, keeping their transparent areas.
Your files never leave your deviceHow to use WebP to PNG
Make WebP images usable in applications that accept PNG. Transparent areas are retained in the PNG output; the conversion runs locally without sending images to a conversion server.
- Choose one or more WebP images supported by your browser.
- Keep original dimensions or enter a maximum width.
- Convert and inspect the preview, then download individual PNGs or one ZIP.
A practical example
Convert a transparent WebP icon into PNG to use in a slide deck or desktop editor.
Before you share the result
- PNG preserves decoded pixels but cannot recover information lost in a lossy WebP.
- Animated WebP exports a browser-decoded frame, not the animation.
- PNG files may be substantially larger than WebP files.
Useful things to know
Are my files private?
File processing happens locally in your browser. Images, PDFs, and output archives are not uploaded to our servers. Save your results before leaving: the workspace is cleared on refresh or navigation.
What formats and sizes are supported?
Up to 30 images, 30 MB per file, 80 MB combined, and 40 megapixels per input image. Dedicated format converters accept only their named source format. Exported images are limited to 16 megapixels. Total output is limited to 100 MB. Smaller batches work better on phones.
What should I expect from this tool?
WebP inputs only. This is a still-image converter; animation, timing, and metadata are not preserved.
Will the exported image look exactly like the original?
PNG retains the decoded pixels without extra lossy compression; JPEG and WebP use the chosen quality. Metadata and colour profiles are not copied. Colour rendering can vary by browser. Animated images become a browser-decoded still frame. Keep your originals and inspect the downloaded output.
Is WebP to PNG free, and how is my privacy handled?
Yes. WebP to PNG is free to use without registration. Tool inputs are processed in your browser rather than uploaded to our servers. Optional usage analytics follows your cookie preferences; it does not receive your files or tool inputs. Keep your browser updated and review results before sharing.
