How to use JSON to CSV Converter
- Paste strict JSON or open a UTF-8 JSON file up to 1 MB. A root array becomes records; use an optional JSON Pointer such as /data/items for nested API responses.
- Choose a delimiter and nested-array strategy. Object fields flatten into escaped dot paths or JSON Pointer columns, with all record keys included.
- Convert locally, inspect the paged table, then copy or download CSV/TSV. UTF-8 BOM, CRLF line endings and spreadsheet formula protection are enabled for file exports by default.
Useful things to know
CSV is a flat string format, not a typed Excel workbook. Missing values and nulls become empty cells unless literal null is selected; arrays/empty containers can be kept as JSON. Numbers are serialized without JavaScript rounding, but Excel can still auto-format dates, leading zeros and long numbers; import affected columns as Text. Formula protection prefixes risky strings and headers with an apostrophe, which changes those CSV values and can remain visible in some readers. It reduces spreadsheet injection risk but cannot control spreadsheet behavior or later re-saving. Inputs: 1 MB, 50,000 JSON nodes, 128 JSON nesting levels, 32 flattening levels, 10,000 records, 200 columns and 500,000 expanded cells. Output is capped at 8 MB. Duplicate keys, NULs and ambiguous path collisions are rejected.
