- Trim or reorder, then set width, speed, frame rate, palette, dithering and loop behavior.
- Prepare the GIF, inspect the actual animation and download.
What are the limits of GIF Maker & Editor?
Files stay on your device. A pinned FFmpeg WebAssembly engine (about 31 MB) downloads from jsDelivr on first use; an internet connection and a modern WebAssembly browser are required. Processing uses one worker thread and can be slow or memory-intensive on phones. Cancel stops the worker. Export re-encodes media, strips metadata and cannot recover missing quality. Encrypted or DRM-protected media is unsupported. Up to 250 MB combined for video/GIF or 20 images of up to 20 MB each. GIF output is capped at 20 seconds, 480 frames and 960 pixels wide; reverse and ping-pong modes count toward that output limit. Palette output has at most 256 colors, without audio. Images support PNG, JPEG and WebP; animated image sequences use their first frame. Output dimensions are even, so images can shift by one pixel.
